Significant Earthquake Rocks Bay Area

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake, centered in the American Canyon area of the North Bay rattled buildings and nerves across Northern California early Sunday morning.

No damage has been reported in the South Bay, but many people felt it as far south as Gilroy.

This is the strongest quake to hit the region since the Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989.
