    The Oakland A's came from behind last night to beat the Houston Astros 4-3.
    Josh Reddick hit a two-run homer for the A's in the eighth inning.
    Oakland remains perfect against Houston in ten games played between the two teams this season.
    The A's and Astros play again tonight in Houston.

    The San Francisco Giants were soundly beaten by the Cincinnati Reds last night 11-0.
    Tim Lincecum gave up three homers in the loss.
    He was pitching for the first time since his no-hitter in San Diego.
    The Reds and Giants are scheduled to play a doubleheader today at AT&T Park.

    The San Jose Giants downed the Stockton Ports last night 10-5.
    San Jose begins a six game road trip tonight in Lancaster.

    Last week's trade between the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been nullified.
    Defensive back Eric Wright has failed his physical with the 49ers and he will be sent back to Tampa.
    Wright was traded to the 49ers in exchange for a 2014 draft pick.


    San Jose State has been picked to come in third in the Mountain West Conference's West division by members of the media attending yesterday's Football Preview in Las Vegas.
    Also, five Spartans have been selected on the preseason All-Mountain West team.
    San Jose State plays its season opener on August 29th against Sacramento State at Spartan Stadium.
