John began his radio career in 1965 at Foothill College radio station KFJC doing play by play for the school’s football, basketball and baseball teams and hosting a daily DJ show and news report. In March of 1967 he was hired by KLIV and has been with company ever since, through the station’s various formats: Top 40, Rock, Disco, Big Band and now Silicon Valley’s News Station.
John gives back to the community in many ways. He has been active in many community organizations including; The Rotary Club of San Jose where he served as club president from 1995-96. The boards of Junior Achievement, San Jose Civic Light Opera, The Rotary Club of San Jose, San Jose Shelter Foundation, Santa Clara County Red Cross, San Jose Beautiful Advisory Board, Walden West Foundation, The Santa Clara Valley Blind Center and the American Cancer Society.
John is also a community volunteer for numerous organizations including: Hope, Valley Monte, The Cancer Society, San Jose Chamber of Commerce, Valley Medical Center, Diabetes Society and the Heart Association
